How wawe works
wawe (short for "Where are we eating?") settles where your group eats with one link. You pick a few places, friends vote in their browser, and the winner appears. It is free and nobody needs to sign up. Want to see it first? Try a practice vote: nothing is shared or saved.
Start a vote
Tap Start a vote. Share your location or type a city, then choose the places yourself or tap Pick 3 for me and we suggest three nearby. Swap or remove any, or type your own, like "our usual place". Pick when voting ends and, if you like, how many of you there are.

Friends vote
Each friend types a first name and taps Pick this under the place they want. Can't choose? Surprise me picks one at random. Anyone can change their pick until voting ends.

Use your veto
Everyone gets one veto. A vetoed place cannot win, whatever its votes. If every place is vetoed, the vetoes cancel out and the votes decide.

See the winner
Voting ends at the time you chose, as soon as everyone has voted (if you said how many of you there are), or when you tap Reveal now. A tie is settled by a spin. Everyone sees the same winner on the same link.

Go, or vote again
Open the winner in Maps or add it to your calendar. Same group next week? Vote again with the same places starts a new vote with them, ready to share.

Common questions
Is wawe free?
Yes. Starting a vote and voting are free, and there are no ads.
Do my friends need to download an app or sign up?
No. They open the link in any phone or computer browser, type a first name and tap their pick. Nobody needs an account.
How many places can a vote have?
Between 2 and 8. They can be restaurants we suggest, places you search for, or anything you type, like "our usual place" or "cook at Sam's".
When does voting end?
At the time you choose (from 5 minutes to 24 hours away), as soon as everyone has voted if you said how many of you there are, or when you tap Reveal now.
What happens if there is a tie?
A tie is settled by a spin. Everyone sees the same winner on the same link, and reloading the page never changes it.
What does the veto do?
Everyone gets one veto. A vetoed place cannot win, whatever its votes. If every place is vetoed, the vetoes cancel out and the votes decide.
Where does wawe work?
Anywhere in the US. Restaurant suggestions come from Overture Maps open data, which covers the whole country. We started in Tampa Bay.
Can a friend change their vote?
Yes. Anyone can change their pick on the same phone or browser until voting ends.
Saving your votes (optional)
Nobody needs an account. If you want the votes you start on every device, tap Your votes at the top and save them with a passkey (Face ID or Touch ID) or with Sign in with Apple. No password to remember. You can delete your account any time.
Something wrong?
A place has closed or its details are wrong: tap Something wrong? on its card while you set up a vote. A vote is not OK: tap Report this vote at the bottom of it. We review every report.

Privacy in two lines
We keep each vote's places and picks and the first names people type. 30 days after a vote ends the names and anything typed are removed. No ads.
